RTÉ has announced a new short film initiative in association with the Arts Council which will support the development of four short films.
To mark the Arts Council’s 60th anniversary, it has teamed up with the national broadcaster to provide up to €12,500 for the development of a three-minute film. The four chosen films will air during RTÉ’s arts programme ‘The Works’ in November and December 2012.
Both organisations are looking for "highly creative” films that will also work for a mainstream television audience. Projects which combine directors and producers with a track record of quality and creativity in film-making and/or television production are sought.
Full details of the initiative (including guidelines and application form) will be announced on Friday September 14, and an information session will take place on Wednesday September 19 at 2pm in the Central Hotel, Exchequer Street, Dublin 2. Anyone interested in attending should register with Filmbase at events@filmbase.ie.
The deadline for applications is Monday October 1 at 5pm. Applicants must be available for interview on Monday October 8 and be in a position to deliver completed films on, or before, Monday November 19.
