Ronan Hill Nominated For Cinema Audio Society Award For ‘Game Of Thrones’
14 Jan 2013 : By Eva Hall
Ronan Hill has been enjoying his 'Game of Thrones' success from 2012 right through to 2013
Northern Irish sound mixer Ronan Hill has been nominated for a Cinema Audio Society Award for his work on HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’.

Hill, who has worked on all three seasons of the fantasy adventure adaptation of George RR Martin’s novels, has been nominated for episode nine of season two, called ‘Blackwater’.

Hill, along with fellow Northern Irish sound mixer Mervyn Moore, has also been nominated for an IFTA Award for ‘Game of Thrones’, while the duo picked up a Creative Emmy Award in 2012 for their sound skills.

‘Game of Thrones’, which is nearing its third season premiere on Sky Atlantic, has filmed in Northern Ireland for the last three seasons, using all six counties as filming locations.

As well international crew including acclaimed writers and series creators David Benioff and DB Weiss, executive producer Frank Doelger, and actors Mackenzie Crook and Peter Dinklage, Northern Irish actors including Richard Dormer and Ciaran Hinds joined the cast in 2012.

Hill joins a third Northern Irish man, Seamus McGarvey, in receiving multiple nominations for one piece of work this month. McGarvey, originally from Armagh, has been nominated for an IFTA, a BAFTA and an Oscar for his cinematography on ‘Anna Karenina’.

The CAS Awards will be held on February 16, while the IFTA Awards will be held in Dublin on February 9.
