Redemption of a Rogue and Deadly Cuts now on Netflix.
The hugely popular Dublin-set hairdressing comedy Deadly Cuts and the critically acclaimed dark comedy Redemption of a Rogue have released on Netflix in Ireland and the UK this week.

Starring a strong Irish female cast including Angeline Ball (The Commitments, Shameless), Ericka Roe (Herself, Dublin Murders), Lauren Larkin (Love/Hate), Shauna Higgins (Dating Amber, Red Rock), Victoria Smurfit (Once Upon A Time, Marcella) and Pauline McLynn (Father Ted), along with Aidan McArdle (Black 47, The Fall), DEADLY CUTS follows the stylists of a Dublin hair salon who become accidental vigilantes as they take on a local gang threatening their community.

The film which was written and directed by Rachel Carey was a big hit with cinema audiences last year ranking as the most successful Irish film of 2021.  There is talk of the film following in the footsteps of The Young Offenders with a possible TV series adaptation in the pipeline.

Deadly Cuts, which was produced by Auveen Lush, Ciara Appelbe and Liz Gill for O’Sullivan Productions, with funding from Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI), and Virgin Media. The film is available to stream on Netflix in Ireland/UK from Thursday 6th January.

Redemption of a Rogue is the first feature film from the award-winning playwright Philip Doherty (Pilgrim) and was the recipient of the Best Irish Film and Best Irish First Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh.

It follows Jimmy, played by Cavan native Aaron Monaghan (Maze, Assassin’s Creed), on his road to salvation after returning to his hometown. Stuck in a Groundhog Day-like purgatory, Jimmy embarks on a sacrificial and outlandish journey to rid himself of his guilt and shame from the past, ultimately redeeming himself through love.

The eclectic cast from Irish stage and screen includes Aisling O’Mara and Kieran Roche along with comedian Kevin McGahern (Republic of Telly), the Oscar-nominated screenwriter Shane Connaughton (My Left Foot), and author Pat McCabe (The Butcher Boy, Breakfast on Pluto).

Redemption of a Rogue, which was produced by Emma Foley and Tamryn Reinecke for Pale Rebel Productions, is available to stream on Netflix in Ireland/UK from Wednesday 5th January.
