The 6th Annual Limerick Film Festival was formally launched on Tuesday 31st March at the George Boutique Hotel, Limerick.
The launch of the Limerick Film Festival Programme 2015 drew a large attendance from the local film making community. Limerick Film Festival Director, Simon McGuire, spoke about the importance of the previous year’s Limerick City of Culture Film Legacy and the resulting short film production currently taking place in the city.
This year’s programme includes many guest speakers and screenings.
Brendan McCarthy, co-author of the new MadMax: Fury Road film, due for release in May 2015, will be speaking on Thursday 23rd April.
Irish film director, Kevin Liddy, will be screening his latest short film, ‘The Suffering Kind’ (Winner of the Spirit of Cork Indie Film Festival), along with his critically acclaimed film, ‘Horse’, on Friday 24th April.
The final speaker will be Irish music composer, Patrick Cassidy, whose recent work includes the soundtrack to the award winning ‘Calvary’, will be speaking on Saturday 25th April.
All guests will speak in the Film Festival’s home of the Millennium Theatre at Limerick Institute of Technology. The Short List for the Short Film Awards was also released and details are on the film festival website.
