Robbie Walsh's 'Eden' To Have Special Screening in Aid of the Dublin Simon Community
26 Feb 2019 : News Desk
Eden
The feature film will have a special screening followed by a Q&A with the director and cast in Odeon Point Village at 7pm on 5th March to raise awareness for the Dublin Simon Community.

Eden follows a day in the life of Adam – a man left unemployed and homeless in the wake of the Irish financial crisis, living on the streets of Dublin. Adam encounters a spectrum of characters from every walk of life while living rough, as the experience of a homeless existence is laid bare.

‘Eden’ stars Johnny Elliott (‘Patricks Day’), IFTA nominees Sarah Carroll (‘The Limit Of’) and Chris Newman (‘Red Rock’), Stuart Donel Foran (‘Into The West’) Alan Sherlock (‘Lift’) Brendan Sheehan (‘Bridget & Eamon’), Kellie Blaise (‘The Borgias’) Nicci St George Smith (‘Soprano’). ‘Eden’ was written and directed by Robbie Walsh (‘Split’, ‘Michael Inside’) who also stars in the film. ‘Eden’ is expected to screen at a number of international and domestic film festivals in 2019.

Director Robbie Walsh Told IFTN:

"As proud as I am of the charity release of Eden, it also saddens me that it has become more relevant and common place in Ireland today. When I made Eden it was a "what might happen" scenario, that has unfortunately turned into a reality"

All proceeds and donations from the special screening on Tuesday 5th March will go to the Dublin Simon Community. The charity provides permanent housing to move people and families on from homelessness for good. Dublin Simon Community also offers emotional support, advocacy and advice, identifying what needs to happen for people to become secure in a home.
