The IFTA London initiative aims to help build a new network for the film and television communities.”

The Irish Film Board's CEO, James Hickey, spoke at the event, congratulating IFTA on the significant work it has done over recent years to highlight and showcase Irish talent and said that the Film Board "regards IFTA as a vital part of the infrastructure we have in Ireland for film, TV and culture”. He acknowledged that the Board is very supportive of this very timely initiative by the Academy and is delighted to work in partnership with IFTA on this event, which is a great opportunity for Irish and UK talent and industry to come together to network and develop strong working relationships. He said there have been great co-productions between Ireland and the UK in the past, that were big box office successes and that the Film Board want to see more of these and this initiative from IFTA can help achieve that.
