Dublin’s narrow victory over Mayo in the 2017 All-Ireland Football Final saw an average audience of 1,137,500 flock to RTÉ2’s live coverage of the game to earn it the largest viewership of the year, thus far.

Of those of the population watching TV on Sunday, September 17th, 80.65% were tuned into 'The Sunday Game' on RTÉ2.

The TV audience for the day peaked at over 1.3 million people as Dublin’s Dean Rock composed himself to score the winning point from a free kick (17:11pm).

The win saw Dublin seal their first three-in-a-row since the 1920s.

Yesterday's All-Ireland Football final saw the highest volume of live streams for any football final ever on RTÉ Player and also the strongest volume of live streams for any Sunday Game Live ever. Total live streams reached 107,451 which includes 2,379 live streams of the Irish commentary version
