Crowley will direct Beyond The Sea, the third episode in the upcoming season of Charlie Brooker’s anthology series.
The Crowley-directed episode is set in an alternative 1969, following two men on a perilous high-tech mission who must wrestle with the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy.
Beyond the Sea stars Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Josh Hartnett (Oppenheimer), Kate Mara (House of Cards), Auden Thornton (Beauty Mark), Rory Culkin (Charlie Walker), and is written by series showrunner Brooker.
The episode is one of five in the upcoming sixth season of satirical sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror. Cast members appearing in the rest of the season include Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), Salma Hayek (Frida), Michael Cera (Superbad), Himesh Patel (Yesterday), Rob Delaney (Catastrophe), and Zazie Beetz (Atlanta).
Brooker, Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones and Bisha K. Ali executive produce the series. Brooker also produces the series under his and Jones’ production company Broke & Bones.
Black Mirror season 6 will premiere on Netflix in June.
