Screen Ireland has confirmed the appointment of Greg Martin to the role of Project Manager – Feature Film.

Greg Martin joins the recently expanded Production and Development team within Screen Ireland and will work across Screen Ireland-supported feature film and documentary projects, throughout production, financing, and market exploitation. Previously, Martin spent six years working in Acquisitions and Distribution for international financing outfit Embankment Films.

Speaking about the appointment, Screen Ireland CEO Désirée Finnegan said: "We are delighted to welcome Greg to the production and development team at Screen Ireland. Greg’s experience in acquisitions and distribution brings a valuable perspective on the international marketplace. He joins Screen Ireland at an exciting time as we continue to support Irish cinema, investing in emerging and established talent across all areas of the creative screen industry.”

Speaking about his new role, Martin said: "I've long been a strong admirer of Irish film - My Left Foot remains one of my inspirations to pursue a career in film. That love of Irish film has been a constant ever since, and whilst at Embankment I have worked with a brilliant coterie of Irish film-makers, including Thaddeus O'Sullivan's The Miracle Club, Emer Reynolds' Joyride, and Lisa Mulcahy's Lies We Tell.”

“I look forward to joining Screen Ireland, supporting the work of world-class storytellers - those well-established, those starting out, and those soon to be celebrated. In thanking my colleagues at Embankment, it’s been an honour to make life-long friends, and enjoy cherished memories within such a progressive team," Martin added.

Greg Martin spent the past six years working for international sales and financing outfit Embankment Films, working in Acquisitions and Distribution. His most recent credits include Florian Zeller's The Son (as well as Academy Award-winning film The Father), Frances O'Connor's Emily, Guy Nattiv's Golda, Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum's smash hit for Netflix Purple Hearts, and Roger Michell's 2022 documentary Elizabeth: A Portrait in Part(s).

Recent Irish film acquisitions for Embankment have been Thaddeus O'Sullivan's The Miracle Club, Emer Reynolds' Joyride, and Lisa Mulcahy's Lies We Tell.  Prior to Embankment, Greg's background has been in development and production, including films for Working Title such as Bridget Jones's Baby, and Academy Award winners Darkest Hour and The Danish Girl.

Embankment Films co-founder Tim Haslam said: “Greg’s career development made a significant contribution to our teamwork and delivery of emotive and high quality storytelling. We are wholly thankful to Greg and celebrate his joining the Screen Ireland team, and anticipate many future initiatives together.”

Greg Martin will take up his new position with Screen Ireland on October 3rd.
