The ‘Moone Boy’ star is set to star in the adaptation of the 1995 feature film, ‘Get Shorty’ originally starring John Travolta and Gene Hackman.
‘Get Shorty’ is a 10-episode original series from MGM TV, written by Davey Holmes (Shameless, Boomerang), who is also set to executive produce. The series is set to run on US channel Epix.
The IFTA-winning actor is set to star alongside ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ star Ray Romano. O’Dowd will portray Miles Daly, a Nevada crime ring member, who attempts to leave his life of crime in favour of becoming a corrupt movie producer. Romano is set to play washed-up producer Rick, who becomes Daly’s unreliable compass in the dense world of Hollywood.
O’Dowd’s other upcoming work includes Tim Burton’s ‘Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children’. In addition O’Dowd has worked on the anticipated ‘Loving Vincent’ which also features Saoirse Ronan and Aidan Turner.
