Sky Atlantic aired the tenth and final episode of the season, ‘The Winds of Winter’ to Irish audiences at 2:00 this morning, and is set to air a second time tonight at 21:00. As the longest episode in the history of the series, it boasts a 69-minute run time.
The first episode of the current series, 'The Red Woman' originally aired to 1.4 million viewers on Sky Atlantic in April of this year. ‘The Winds of Winter’ has been well received on social media as a remarkable finale, and has been dubbed as the best episode of the season.
Highlights of the season included the return of character Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington, the fate of Hodor and the violent showdown of episode 9, ‘Battle of the Bastards’.
Irish talent in the HBO series has included Michelle Fairy as Catelyn Stark, Jack Gleeson as Joffrey Lannister and Liam Cunningham in the role of Ser Davos.
