UTV Ireland is currently seeking programme ideas from Independent Production Companies for the next round of the Broadcasting Funding Scheme (Sound & Vision III, Round 26) which closes on April 7th.
Reaching out to a broad demographic across Ireland, the channel carries a mixture of entertainment, drama and lifestyle programming along with news and current affairs.
UTV Ireland has stated that its’ looking for engaging and entertaining, half-hour lifestyle and observational documentary programmes which reflect contemporary Irish society. They also state that these programs will need to work in their key peak-time slots and should have broad appeal.
The channel is also looking for a formatted hour-long series, documentaries and documentary series for peak-time.
UTV Ireland is also particularly interested in ideas with additional finance opportunities attached and / or possible co-broadcasters. They are willing to explore all-Ireland ideas which could also be broadcast on their sister station UTV, which is based in Northern Ireland.
The channel will accept a maximum of two submissions per company for each category. The closing date for submissions is Friday, March 4th at 5pm.
One page per idea plus an indicative budget is all that is required at this stage. Ideas must be sent via email only to commissioning@utv.ie. Postal submissions will not be accepted.
