James Murdoch, CEO of Twentieth Century Fox is set to return as Chair of SKY. The appointment has promoted speculation that Fox may be set to mount a bid for the 61% of the firm that it doesn’t currently own.
As reported in BroadbandTVNews, Sky in UK and Ireland produced its strongest Q2 performance in 10 years, adding 778,000 new paid-for products, with 778,000 new paid for products and taking the installed product base to over 39 million customers. 146,000 TV customers were added in the quarter with its highest numbers of new customers in UK and Ireland market for 10 years.
Murdoch replaces Nick Ferguson, who has been chairman since 2012 and on the board for 12 years, at the end of April.
