Northern Irish shot series ‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’ to premiere on ITV Encore on November 11th

Northern Irish shot series ‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’, a re-imagining of the Frankenstein myth as a six-part period crime drama produced by Rainmark Films, will première Wednesday 11th November at 10pm on ITV Encore.

The series shot on location in Northern Ireland and received funding from the Northern Ireland Screen Fund supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Incorporating elements from the investigative and horror genres, Inspector John Marlott, played by multi-awarding winning leading actor Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Accused), will be taken on a terrifying journey in pursuit of a chilling and diabolical foe.

Cast joining Sean Bean includes Anna Maxwell Martin (The Bletchley Circle), Charlie Creed-Miles (Ripper Street), Ed Stoppard (Cilla), Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons), Eloise Smyth (Life of Crime), Hugh O’Conor (Chocolat), Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones), Lalor Roddy (Hunger), Patrick Fitzsymons (Game of Thrones) and Richie Campbell (Waterloo Road). Robbie Gee (Snatch), Ryan Sampson (Plebs), Samuel West (Mr Selfridge), Shaun Mason (Cilla), Steve Wilson (Game of Thrones), Steven Berkoff (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Stuart Graham (The Fall), Tom Ward (Silent Witness) and Vanessa Kirby (About Time) will also star.

Set in Georgian London in 1827, The Frankenstein Chronicles has been created by Emmy nominated director and writer Benjamin Ross (The Young Poisoner’s Handbook, Torte Bluma – both as director) and writer Barry Langford (Torte Bluma).

ITV’s Director of Drama, Steve November and Controller of Drama Victoria Fea have commissioned the series for ITV Encore.

The Frankenstein Chronicles is be produced by David Tanner for Rainmark Films (Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight – as co-producer) and Carol Moorhead (Line of Duty, The Fall Season 2 – as line producer). Executive Producers are Rainmark Films’ Tracey Scoffield (Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight, The Gathering Storm, Dirty PreMy Things) and Frank Doelger (Game of Thrones, Rome, John Adams, The Gathering Storm). The dramas co-creator Benjamin Ross, whose credits also include Poppy Shakespeare and RKO281, directs the series.

The series is Executive Produced by Justin Thomson-Glover and Patrick Irwin for Far Moor and Endemol Worldwide Distribution is handling international sales outside UK/Ireland.
