Treasure Entertainment’s upcoming feature film ‘Handsome Devil’ is currently shooting in Cork.
Re-uniting director John Butler and producers Rob Walpole and Rebecca O’ Flanagan – the team behind the 2013 comedy ‘The Stag’ which enjoyed a successful cinema release in Ireland before being nominated for six IFTA Awards – ‘Handsome Devil’ is a coming-of-age story that pokes fun at Ireland's rugby culture. John Butler also wrote the screenplay for the film.
The film stars this year’s Best Actor IFTA winner Moe Dunford (‘Patrick’s Day’), Andrew Scott (‘Spectre’), Amy Huberman (‘The Stag’), Norma Sheahan (‘The Clinic’), Michael MacElhatton (‘Perrier’s Bounty’) and Hugh O'Conor (‘Pilgrimage’). Louise Kiely Casting were behind the casting for the feature film.
The production was given development funding of €22,000 in the last quarter of 2014 from the Irish Film Board.
Another Treasure Entertainment project – ‘Viva’ – directed by Paddy Breathnach and written by Mark O’ Halloran – is scheduled to be presented to buyers at both the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and the Toronto Film Festival next month.
