Ireland’s first international channel Irish TV will bring the world of St Patrick's Day parades together with a 150-minute special on March 17 featuring parades from Ireland, Northern Ireland, England and the US.

The programme will be anchored from Armagh with live coverage of the city’s parade from 1pm, with highlights from the celebrations in Killarney and Dublin.

Viewers can also watch highlights of the celebrations in Leeds, Manchester, London and Brooklyn, New York.

The programme will be broadcast on Irish TV from 1-3.30pm on March 17 on Sky 191, Freesat 400, eVision 191, all free-to-air boxes and online at www.irishtv.com.

Irish TV presenter and Ulster director Malachi Cush said: ‘It has been a very exciting year for Irish TV as we have watched our programming and viewership grow since our launch in May 2014.’

‘We are extremely proud of all of our teams working tirelessly throughout this country and further afield to bring the viewer a flavour of real Ireland.’

‘We continue to be committed to bringing a local flavour to television screens across the country and I am particularly proud that Irish TV will broadcast Armagh’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations live for the first time in its long and very successful history.’

‘This is a great opportunity to let people both at home and abroad enjoy what is one of the most anticipated and celebrated parades at the Ecclesiastical capital Armagh.’

Irish TV’s spring/summer season will see 2,000 hours of home-produced programming with documentaries, cooking programmes, movies and a brand new series featuring the leading lights of the Irish country music and folk scene.
