Dublin Animation Film Festival – Deadline for entries
28 Jul 2014 : Deirdre Molumby
Reminder! The deadline for entering your short animated film for Dublin Animation Film Festival is 5PM today!

The officially selected films will be showcased during Dublin Animation Film Festival (17- 18 October 2014) and if your film is shortlisted, it will be screened in the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. The awards will be presented at the Pavilion Theatre, Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin on 18 October 2014 as the closing event.

So far, entries have been received from Brazil, Australia, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the UK and the USA. The festival is supported by RTE Supporting the Arts, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) and Diep at Home.

Commenting on the new look festival, Festival Director, Fionnghuala Ní Néill said: “Early in 2014, I started getting phone calls and emails asking when we would be calling for entries and when would the festival be held, which is a real compliment! I was also bowled over by the number of people who e-mailed, called and texted me offering their support. The festival is run on a voluntary basis, so all offers of help were gratefully received!

“I am delighted that we are showcasing the shortlisted films at the Pavilion Theatre. It is a lovely venue and everyone working there is very enthusiastic and helpful. It will be a great event!

”Not only have we got a new venue, but we have a new look website! I would also like to thank Harpreet Bhambra from Studio HB, Blackrock and Jennifer Farley of Laughing Lion Design, who have worked with me to give the festival a fresh new look.”
