Behind the Scenes of ‘Vikings’
Creator and writer of the highly anticipated ‘Vikings’, Michael Hirst, gave cameras the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and discover how the world of ‘Vikings’ is created.

The third season of the epic series is currently being filmed at Ashford Studios in Ballyhenry, Co. Wicklow, with a dominant Irish cast making up the co-production between Octagon Films, Take 5 Productions and World 2000 Entertainment. The show, which was nominated for three Emmy’s last year including main title design, special visual effects in a supporting role and sound editing, is based on a solid Irish team including the director Ciarán Donnelly (The Tudors, Stardust, Titanic: Blood and Steel), Emmy award-winning Joan Bergin (Tudors, David Copperfield, The Prestige), production designer Tom Conroy (Tudors, West is West, Breakfast on Pluto) and line producer Séamus McInerney.

In the featurette below, a number of the show’s below-the-line creatives expound on their challenges from season 2 including Bergin, DP P.J. Dillion, production designer Mark Geraghty, prop master Paul Hedges, chief make-up artist Tom McInerney, set decorator Jill Turner, director Jeff Woolnough and key hair designer Dee Corcoran.

Our favourite bearded and braided Nordics will return for another 10 bloody episodes in 2015.

’Sonic the Hedgehog’ Movie in the Works
Sony and Original Film are teaming with Sega to turn the popular Sega video game protagonist ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ into a franchise mainstay with a big screen debut before 2016.

Producer Neal H. Moritz (22 Jump Street) is working on a big-screen version of the $1 billion video game franchise with writers Evan Susser and Van Robichaux. The studio is teaming with Japan-based production company Marza Animation Planet, a division of the Sega Sammy Group, to make a hybrid computer-animated/live-action feature. Toby Ascher will serve as an executive producer. The film will also feature some of the franchise's favourite characters including the evil Dr. Eggman. The iconic blue anthropomorphised hedgehog with the ability to move at supersonic speeds began life in 1991 in order to compete with Nintendo’s mascot Mario.

Hannah Minghella of Sony-owned Columbia Pictures said: “Along with our wonderful creative partners at Marza, we're looking to capture everything that generations of fans know and love about Sonic while also growing his audience wider than ever before.”

First ‘Dumb and Dumber’ trailer
Harry and Lloyd are back with even more hilarious antics in their new movie ‘Dumb and Dumber 2’, which is set to be released by Universal this coming November.

‘Dumb and Dumber 2’is directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly (Dumb & Dumber, There's Something About Mary), and written by Sean Anders, John Morris (Sex Drive, She's Out of My League), Mike Cerrone (Me, Myself & Irene) and Bennett Yellin (Dumb & Dumber). The sequel shows Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their roles as Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas who set off on a road trip to find Harry's illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant. Laurie Holden and Kathleen Turner also star in the film.

The original movie was a $247m worldwide hit for New Line and WB over 20 years ago. This time round audiences will again get to enjoy the pairs classic blue and orange tuxedos along with the infamous van made to look like a dog.

‘Dumber and Dumber 2,’ which is officially titled ‘Dumb and Dumber To,’ will hit cinemas in November before the original film’s twentieth anniversary. Check out the trailer below:
