Irish Doc ‘Garbage Girl’ In Pre-Production Ahead of India Shoot
07 Sep 2012 : By Steve Cummins
'Garbage Girl' will be completed next year
Irish feature documentary ‘Garbage Girl’ has entered pre-production in preparation for an October shoot date in India.

The documentary will follow India-based environmental activist Jodie Underhill and the Mountain Cleaners, an NGO, as they undertake a mission to clean up India. The idea of the documentary is to showcase how ordinary people make a difference in the world.

British activist Underhill has been based in India since 2009, where she founded the non-for-profit Mountain Cleaners to clean up the Indian Himalayas.

Director Marc O'Gleasain (editor on Living the Revolution) will travel to a number of locations in India in October to begin filming for two to four weeks. He will then return to India for a further 10 weeks in February 2013 to complete filming.

Marcus Stewart is producing for Earth Horizon Productions with O’Gleasain. Raja Nundlall is the cinematographer.

Production is set to wrap in April 2013, with a post-production house yet to be decided.
