Daily Bite: Oscars To Remain In Hollywood
02 May 2012 : By Steve Cummins
Kodak Theatre
Today’s Daily Bite includes the trailer for Judd Apatow’s ‘Knocked-Up’ sequel, ‘This Is 40,’ as well as news that the Oscars will remain in Hollywood, despite a mooted move, and BSkyB fights back over its “fitness” to hold a broadcasting licence.

Oscars to remain in Hollywood …. After much speculation, the Oscars is to remain at the Hollywood and Highland Center for at least another 20 years, where the Oscars venue will now be called the Dolby Theater. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has made a deal to remain in Hollywood after much speculation that the event would be moved to another part of LA following the bankruptcy of Eastman Kodak, who had previously owned the venue then known as the Kodak Theater.

BSkyB says it remains “fit and proper”…. Satellite broadcaster BSkyB says it a remains “fit and proper” holder of a broadcasting licence. The broadcaster made the comments – alongside the announcement of a €1.12bn operating profit – as it responded to some members of a British commons media committee who concluded that Mr Murdoch was “not a fit person” to run a major international business.

Siobhan Green poached by ITV… ITV have poached Siobhan Greene, the head of television at Simon Cowell’s Syco TV, as their director of entertainment, according to Broadcast. Greene has been appointed to the newly created position at ITV Studios. At Syco she had been executive producer of The X Factor in the UK for the last eight seasons, as well as executive producer of The X Factor USA on Fox Network.

If you watch one trailer today… Irish actor Chris O’Dowd has landed a supporting role in ‘Knocked-up’ sequel ‘This Is 40, which will be released in December.
