BeActive produced interactive web series ‘350 South; an American Journey’ is to have excerpts from it shown on Setanta Sports twice weekly at various times starting this weekend.
‘350 South; an American Journey’ follows Irish environmentalist Ian Lacey as he and US cyclist Lee Savile travel across 15 countries, going from Alaska to Argentina over 350 days. The project has been online since the July when the journey first began and includes five minute self shot video diaries from Ian which will be now shown on the sports channel.
BeActive have been funding the filming and taught Ian how to use a camera. In September director Anna Rodgers (Hold on Tight, If These Walls Could Talk) and DOP Ross Bartley (Wild Journeys, Growing Up Gay) also joined Ian and Lee filming as they cycled in Jasper National Park.
Commenting on the news Nuno Bernardo (Living in Your Car, Yes I Can) Executive Producer at BeActive said, “We are incredibly excited about this project, which sees Ian and Lee looking at environmental issues as well as reaching out to local communities along the route of their epic journey. What makes this so different from other adventure documentaries is that we are using the various platforms to enable the audience to help shape the experience as well as allowing them more of a ‘lean back’ experience by following the adventure via video diaries and blogs.”
