Seán 'The Dragon' Gallagher has been crowned winner of 'Charity Lords of the Ring' in the climatic final part of the series which was broadcast on Saturday the 22nd of August. The Cavan businessman beat the favourite to win, showbiz reporter Paul Martin.
Directed by Roy Heayberd, produced by Isobel Nolan, co-exec produced by Barry McGuigan and executive produced by Larry Bass and Brian Peters, the week long contest - which was broadcast live also featured inserts from training that were edited at Windmill Lane.
The original format was created by Larry Bass & Roy Heayberd. Mickey Harte penned the theme tune and other crew members involved were Joe Edwards and Gerry Mac Arthur on camera alongside Stephen McDowell and Sam Horgan on sound.
Following a split decision by the show's judges, Jimmy Magee, Pat Spillane and Brian Peters Gallagher was deemed to be the winner of the final.
Gallagher had replaced journalist Joe O’Shea after the latter injured himself. As a result the winner’s cash prize will now be divided between both mens’ chosen charities; The National Council for the Blind and The Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Viewing figures are yet to be released for the series.
