Screen Training Ireland/FAS in association with Galway Film Centre and FilmBase are launching a Internship Programme for new entrants into the film And television sectors

The programme will consist of a series of short, structured training courses combined with placements on S35 supported film and television drama productions. The training is pitched at entry level and is designed to meet the needs of those in trainee grades in the sector. It will build on existing training provided by Galway Film Centre and FilmBase.

It is planned to offer training to approximately 100 new entrants in 1998. Each participant will be able to avail of a short training course focused on the area of work (department) which he/she has chosen, following which a placement will be arranged. Each trainee's experience on production will be tracked by a training co-ordinate with experience in the industry. The first training modules of the Internships Programme will commence on June 19th.
