This Course covers the principles and practices of the work involved in the production management of documentaries and is aimed at Production Assistants, Production Secretaries and those Production Managers who have recently taken on that role.

Areas covered include:

- Role, function and responsibilities of a documentary production manager
- Scheduling, budgeting and cashflows for documentaries
- Union Agreements, rules and regulations which must be followed so that budgets are maintained.
- Contracts: casts, crews, crowds, musicians, children, locations
- using stunts and special effects
- Insurance: Employment Law, Health and Safety
- Location management (foreign and a home) and in studio
-Working on film and tape: broad coverage of the differences
- Music
-Post-production - current practices and using new technologies
The Course Tutor will be an experienced P.M. who will draw on a number of specialist contributors during the week-long course.
