This Course covers the principles and practices of the work involved in the production management of a feature film or television film drama.

Participants will learn the elements involved in Script Breakdowns, schedules and budgets.

Areas covered include:-

    - Role, function and responsibility of a drama production manager
    - Script break down and scheduling
    - Union Agreements, rules and regulations which must be followed so that budgets must be maintained.
    - Budgets, cashflow and cost reports
    - Contracts: cast, crew, crowds, musicians, children, locations
    - Using stunts and special effects
    - Insurances: completion bonds, health & safety
    - The Unit: on location (foreign and at home) and in the studio
    - Working on film and tape: broad coverage differences
    - Progress reports
    - Music
    - Post-production - current practices and using new technologies

Throughout the course speakers will be brought in to fully explain their specialist areas and to answer questions relating to the main thread of the course - the script, budget and plan, around which everything revolves.
