D-Light Studios, a multimedia space opened in 2009 in a two storey 150-year-old warehouse located on North Great Clarence Street, are anticipating that their current expansion work will be finished by the end of 2014.
The new development will see a third studio being added to meet increasing demand for services and will be located on the ground floor of the current building.
The company has went from strength to strength since its inaugural year, opening up its doors to such dramas as BBC One’s ‘Ripper Street’, and recording a busy 2014 with current RTÉ 2 series ‘Drunk TV’ being entirely filmed in the studio, as well as partial filming from ‘Connected’, which is also currently airing on RTÉ 2.
Studio manager and photographer, Kenny Whittle said:’D-Light’ has had one of our best years since opening in 2009 with loyal returning clients like Animo TV, Independent Pictures, Ferndale Films and Midas Productions to name a few. Also returning this year we have The Voice of Ireland filming the judges promos in October. And earlier this year, we seen some of RTE's biggest reality shows like ‘Drunk TV’ and ‘Connected’ been filmed in the studio as well as music royalty Def Leppard and Hollywood star Josh Hartnett taking part in photo-shoots in the studios.
The two, existing studios are large, completely independent and available for rent. Studios can be rented per hour, half-day, day, or week. Each studio has a decidedly different architectural character, and is serviced by a full-time manager to ensure all of their client's needs are met.
In-house facilities include:
- Change and make-up areas
- Vehicle access direct to the studio floor
- Administration office - phone, as well as free Wi-Fi access for clients
- Kitchen – coffee and tea, as well as the capacity to bring in outside caterers
- Toilets and shower room
