Midas series with magician Paul Gleeson (Rua) new ten-part magic series.
‘Draíocht’ (Magic) is directed by Martin Daneels and produced by Lucia Gavin of Midas Productions for TG4. It features Paul Gleeson perform as his alias Rua, recorded at various locations around Ireland including NUI Galway, Dublin City University and on various streets around the capital.
Well known personalities features in weekly episodes include Rozanna Purcell, 2FM DJ Paddy McKenna, comedian Paddy Courtney, musician John Spillane and former Riverdance star Dearbhla Lennon.
Director Martin Daneels told IFTN that “the challenge of adapting Rua’s unique ideas for the small screen has more than paid off and I think we have created a great-looking series that showcases the talents of a unique, young performer.”
Mike Keane & Stephen Smith, executive producers for Midas Productions, commended the fantastic work done by the production and post-production teams to create a quality Irish language series for TG4.
‘Draíocht’ was edited by Bernard Clarke and was post-produced in Reelgood. The series was shot by a team of cameramen including Ross O’Callaghan, Adrian McCarthy and Colm Whelan.
