The Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People returns to Belfast for 10 days on November 19.
Among the industry events taking place at this year’s festival include film previews from around the world, such as ‘Pitch Perfect’, ‘Rise of The Guardians’, ‘Gambit’, Dutch film 'Kauwboy' and Lenny Abrahamson’s acclaimed ‘What Richard Did’.
The Talent Lab masterclasses return with ‘Byzantium’ screenwriter Moira Buffini, production designer Tom McCullough (The Fall, Hunger) and casting agents John and Ros Hubbard (The Hobbit, The Lord of The Rings) among others, taking part.
The Cinemagic Gala Awards will take place in Belfast City Hall on the closing night of the festival on November 29. The awards will celebrate the winning films of the festival and the achievements of young filmmakers supported by Northern Ireland Tourist Board.

At this year’s Clones Film Festival, short films ‘Foxes’ and ‘Autumn Elegy’ and documentary ‘Off the Board’ were triumphant at the festival’s Francie Awards.
‘Foxes’, directed by Lorcan Finnegan, picked up the award in the experimental/fiction category on Sunday night. The short film, which won an IFTA this year, is set on a ghost estate where a young couple see their lives begin to unravel in post boom suburbia.
‘Off the Board’, a film based on the world of diving by Siobhán Perry, picked up the Francie Award in the documentary category.
The Francie Awards were held on the closing night of the festival last Sunday, where local artist Jason Crowley’s sculptures were presented to the two winners.
Also at the festival, Whinbush Productions’ ‘Autumn Elegy’ scooped the jury award and the audience award for the 48 hour film challenge. The judges included Darragh Byrne, Ciara Nic Chormaic and Patrick B McCabe.
The Clones Festival wrapped last Sunday night after a four-day event which saw RTÉ Storyland winners ‘The Begrudgers’ and runners up ‘Trouble Times Three’ as well as Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘What Richard Did’ among the Irish screenings, and ‘Love/Hate’ star Aoibhinn McGinnity in attendance.
Cathy Sheerin, from the Clones Film Festival committee, thanked all filmmakers and jury members from this year’s festival. Support came from the Arts Council, Monaghan County Council, Leader, Clones Credit Union, and Supervalu Clones.
