Robert Sheehan in The Umbrella Academy Season Two
Netflix has shared the first look image and official synopsis of The Umbrella Academy Season 2, ahead of its global release on Netflix on 31st July, 2020.

Based on the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel series created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, season two of the power-charged, superhero, family drama series takes up the Hargreaves siblings scattered in time around Dallas, Texas, 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they’re the only ones who survived. Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday. Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins.

Born in Portlaoise, Sheehan (The Mortal InstrumentsFortitudeMisfits) plays the Role of drug addicted Klaus, who can summon and commune with the dead when sober. “He's a flakey, messy drug addict,” says Sheehan, speaking about the role last season. “Dead people regularly harangue him to do something for them—pass on a message or whatever. He's this tortured character who tries to keep the party going 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so as to run from all of the screaming voices in his head.”

The season two order includes 10 one-hour episodes, is produced by UCP (Universal Content Productions) for Netflix, and sees Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min reprising their roles alongside Sheehan.  The series was adapted for television by showrunner Steve Blackman (Fargo, Altered Carbon), who returns alongside executive producers Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Gerard Way, and Gabriel Bá. Way and Bá serve as co-executive producers.

Season two of The Umbrella Academy can be seen on Netflix from 31stJuly.
