Saoirse Ronan has started shooting in the UK this week on Ian McEwan’s own adaptation of his novella 'On Chisel Beach'. The film is produced by Stephen Woolley ('The Crying Game', 'Byzantium') and Elizabeth Karlsen ('Carol', 'The Crying Game'). It is the feature film directorial debut of Dominic Cooke who most recently directed 'The Hollow Crown' drama series.
Sean Bobbitt (Shame, Hunger, the Place Beyond the Pines) is DOP; Nina Gold is casting director.
The film also features Anne Marie Duff, Emily Watson and Samuel West.
