Both Domhnall and Brian Gleeson are set to star in a new film from ‘Black Swan’ director Darren Aronofsky.
No character details have been revealed yet but the Gleeson’s co-stars are Oscar winners Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem as well as Oscar nominees Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer.
The script, also written by Aronofsky, centres on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests come to their home, disrupting their lives.
Production on the film is tentatively slated for June with a 2017 release expected.
Domhnall Gleeson has also recently been cast in the Netflix feature ‘A Futile And Stupid Gesture’ which tells the story of the men who founded the incredibly popular ‘National Lampoon’ series. This comes after a banner 2015 which saw him star in four films that were nominated for 2016 Oscars (‘The Revenant’, ‘Brooklyn’, ‘Ex Machina’, ‘Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens’). He was recently nominated for two IFTA Awards also – for his supporting turn in ‘Brooklyn’ and for his lead performance in ‘Ex Machina’.
His brother Brian is also a busy man. After starring as one of the five leads in the IFTA nominated RTÉ drama ‘Rebellion’ earlier this year, upcoming films of Brian’s include Simon Dixon’s ‘Tiger Raid’ (with Damien Molony) as well as a role in video-game adaptation ‘Assassin’s Creed’ opposite Michael Fassbender (where he plays the younger version of a character played by his father, Brendan). He also has a role in Fiona Tan’s experimental drama ‘History’s Future’ which premiered earlier this year at Rotterdam – with Mark O’Halloran in the lead role.
