Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting, who officially opened their new premises last month, are to host an Open Day on Monday, April 13.

The Open Day will include a tour of their new facilities, including the multiple Studios, Cinema, Self-Taping Room, Canteen, Gym and Common Room.

The day will also include an introduction to new courses on offer at Bow Street and a group Q&A with Bow Street Facilitators on what to expect if selected for these courses.

These new courses include The Advanced Programme for Screen Acting, and The Foundations Programme for Screen Acting, both designed to complement the much in demand main Programme for Screen Acting. Graduates past and present will also be on hand to answer any questions interested students may have based on their personal experiences of studying at Bow Street.

The Programme for Screen Acting is the only full time year-long Screen Acting Course in Ireland. Graduates of The Programme have had great success in the last several years and The Programme has gotten a reputation as a good casting resource for Casting Directors. Recently Jim Sheridan cast 20 Bow Street actors on his latest film ‘The Secret Scripture’.

Shimmy Marcus, Creative Director at Bow Street said: ‘Bow Street is fast becoming synonymous with highly skilled screen actors and given our recent success it’s not surprising the demand is so great for our courses. We are exceptionally proud of our high standards and being able to give those serious about screen acting the tools to succeed.’

Resident Casting Director and recent IFTA Q&A Guest Maureen Hughes added: ‘We are all about nurturing new talent and finding the next Jack Reynor or Seana Kerslake who all came out of our first home at The Factory. We are creating a special home for actors here, and these unique courses offer actors a major stepping stone to towards realising their ambitions.’

Anyone who would like to find out more should contact Bow Street on 01-5310929 or email training@bowstreet.ie.

The Bow Street Open Day will take place on Monday, 13 April at Bow Street,12/13 Bow Street, Smithfield, Dublin 7 from 12.00 noon to 4.00pm.

Details of all the courses can be found online at: www.bowstreet.ie.
