Developments for Season 4 of ‘Sherlock’
The highly-anticipated return of ‘Sherlock’, for which season 4 was expected to be delivered in 2016, may come sooner than expected. Mark Gatiss, the co-creator of the TV series based on Britain’s most famous detective, has revealed that the production team are close to agreeing on a date to start filming the next season.

Gatiss stated, “I can officially tell you that we are moving closer to agreeing some dates to shoot. If that sounds like a party line, it is. That is proper progress because Ben [Benedict Cumberbatch] and Martin [Freeman] and Stephen [Moffat, ‘Sherlock’ co-creator] are so busy, but actually trying to get everybody to interlock is – we have made significant progress.” The latter refers to producer Moffat’s busy schedule with the new season of ‘Doctor Who’, while Cumberbatch and Freeman, who play Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson respectively, both have thriving movie careers.

The series has received critical acclaim with the first two seasons holding a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and the third season holding a 97% approval rating. ‘Sherlock’ premiered in 2010, season 2 aired in 2012, and season 3 came out this year. The production trend would thus imply a two-year gap between seasons, but this latest development implies that fans will not have to wait as long for the new season, which could air as early as 2015.

Trailer for ‘Foxcatcher’ Released
After premiering at Cannes, the trailer for ‘Foxcatcher’, starring Steve Carell, Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo, has been released. Carell plays John du Pont, an heir to the DuPont Chemical fortune, who decides to coach two wrestling champions called Mark and Dave Schultz (Tatum and Ruffalo respectively). Director Bennett Miller’s debut was ‘Capote’, for which the late Philip Seymour Hoffman won the Academy Award, and it is rumoured that Carell may also be up for the Oscar in his performance in this film.

‘Foxcatcher’ is an Annapurna and Sony Pictures Classics feature based on a true story. The film also stars Sienna Miller and Anthony Michael Hall. The screenplay is by E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman.

‘Foxcatcher’ will compete against Ken Loach’s ‘Jimmy’s Hall’ and Mike Leigh’s ‘Mr. Turner’ in the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival. See the trailer here:

Extract from Ryan Gosling's Debut ‘Lost River’ Released
The first teaser for ‘Lost River’, Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut previously entitled ‘How to Catch a Monster’, has been released. It stars Christina Hendricks, Iain De Caestecker, Matt Smith, Eva Mendes, Ben Mendelsohn, Barbara Steele and our own Saoirse Ronan.

The fantasy thriller premieres at Cannes today as part of the Un Certain Regard selection. It follows a mother of two whose teenage son, Bones, discovers a road leading to a secret underwater town. The extract below hints at a dreamlike urban wasteland in which Bones (De Caestecker) is being intimidated by Smith’s character, Bully:
