Ronan Keating, best-known for his musical career which included being the lead singer of Irish band Boyzone as well being a solo artist, made his big screen debut in romantic comedy ‘Goddess’. Keating has now been cast in his second film appearance for ‘The Riders’, an adaptation of Tim Winton's book of the same name.
‘The Riders’ stars Mark Strong, Luke Hemsworth and Timothy Spall and will be directed by Danish filmmaker Hans Fabian Wullenweber. Produced by Palm Beach Entertainment, the film has a budget of approximately €8,500,000.
Described by Keating himself as “very dark and very serious”, ‘The Riders’ tells the story of an Australian man named Fred Scully who is living in Ireland as he searches for his missing wife, Jennifer. Shooting will commence in Ireland later this year, with Dublin confirmed as one of its locations.
Next for Keating, he will provide the singing voice of Postman Pat in the animated feature film ‘Postman Pat: The Movie,’ based on the long-running BBC children’s series. It is set for release in May of this year.
