Jack Reynor has been cast opposite Vince Vaughn in what will be the 20 year-old’s US debut role.

The Wicklow actor joins fellow Irish man Simon Delaney on ‘The Delivery Man’, a Steven Spielberg production which is currently shooting in New York.

Reynor landed the role of young American Josh after Spielberg himself saw Reynor’s audition tapes first hand.

Reynor is said to be sharing the majority of his screen time with ‘Wedding Crashers’ star Vaughn, while Delaney, as already reported on IFTN, is playing Vaughn’s brother.

The plot of the film sees Vaughn play a middle-aged man who discovers he has fathered 533 children via sperm donations. When many of the now-grown children find out, they all want to meet the man responsible for their existence.

‘The Delivery Man’ is being directed by Ken Scott, the director behind the recently shot ‘The Grand Seduction’, which stars Brendan Gleeson.

Scott also wrote the script, with Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment producing with Dreamworks.

Reynor jetted out to New York on October 6 to begin filming, and immediately met up with fellow Irish actor Delaney. A spokesman for Reynor said it was "pure coincidence" that the two Irish actors landed roles in the same Hollywood film.

Reynor recently signed to WME in the US after he received critical acclaim State-side for his role as Richard Karlsen in Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘What Richard Did’.

Delaney has been jetting back and forth to the US and Ireland for some time, having landed roles in ‘Touch’ with Kiefer Sutherland and ‘The Good Wife’ with Julianna Margulies.

Reynor will next be seen in Eoin Macken’s ‘Cold’, in which he stars alongside ‘Merlin’ actors Macken and Tom Hopper, and Kristen Sheridan’s ‘Dollhouse’, which is released in cinemas on December 7.

Reynor will resume filming on ‘The Delivery Man’, which also stars Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), Britt Robertson (The Secret Circle) and Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation), in New York on Thursday, November 8.
