Auditions For Irish Feature Film To Begin Today
25 Apr 2012 :
Yuki
Northern Irish production company Out of Orbit is to hold the first round of auditions today (April 25) and tomorrow for an upcoming Irish language feature film that will shoot in Northern Ireland this summer.

Auditions will get underway between 4.30pm and 9.30pm at the Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast and continue tomorrow (April 26) between 10am and 2pm.

No details as to the Northern Ireland Screen-supported project will be released prior to the audition, with Out of Orbit instead hoping to keep details under wraps. However, speaking to IFTN producer Brian J Falconer of Out of Orbit revealed that further auditions will take place in the Republic and again in Belfast over the coming weeks.

Those who can speak Irish, are between the ages of 18 and 30 and would like to audition this week are asked to reply to outoforbitproductions@gmail.com with their preferred date and time. Each audition should take approximately 15 minutes.

Those interested are asked to have a prepared audition piece in Irish - either an extract from a play, a poem, a song, or a piece of your own. The piece should not run for more than five minutes. If you have any previous acting experience please attach a CV and if you have no previous acting experience, please state in your reply. The address for the Crescent Arts Centre is 2-4 University Road, Belfast, BT7 1NH.

Out of Orbit previously produced the 2010 Irish/Japanese fantasy short ‘Yuki’, which was directed by Jonathan Beer. Northern Ireland Screen and Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation funded the project.
