The Dublin Central School of Acting launch intensive weekend bootcamp 5th and 6th of November. The intensive course will begin with an audition technique workshop with Casting Director Gillian Reynolds on Saturday morning, which will be followed by a hands-on workshop with demonstrations on Script, Character, Acting for Screen and Stage and improvisation with Bern Deegan.
Tutor Gillian Reynolds is responsible for casting shows including ITV’s ‘Primeval’ and upcoming animation ‘Joe and Jack’, while Bern Deegan has a wealth of theatre and screen experience from Leamy Flanagan in ‘The Field’ to roles in ‘The Honeymooners’ and ‘The Wonderful Story of Kelvin Kind’.
Monologues will also take centre stage on the bootcamp with a demonstration from a visiting theatre company on how to use monologues, which monologues to use in auditions and how to produce a one man show.
Mock auditions will be filmed and participant will perform monologues in front of the class with analysis and critique of performances. Participants will also take part in an individual photoshoot with professional photographer Brendan Harrington (www.brendanharringtonphotography.com), where they will receive Industry Standard Headshots.
The course is suitable for people who wish to explore the possibility of making acting their professional career and for those who have been out of the business and need a quick refresher course.
