Aidan Gillen
IFTA winning actor Aidan Gillen (The Wire) has been added to the cast of the epic Northern Irish production of ‘Game of Thrones’. The Irish star will appear in the series in the role of Littlefinger, advisor to Mark Addy’s King Robert.

Gillen will star in the HBO's fantasy series alongside Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers), Lena Headey (300), Peter Dinklage (Death at a Funeral) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Wimbledon).

Based on the series of books by George R.R. Martin, ‘Game of Thrones’ is an epic struggle for power set in a vast and violent fantasy kingdom. The series will shoot on a huge set in the Paint Hall Studio, as well as various locations in Northern Ireland. Production. The shoot is to begin this month and is expected to last until the end of the year.

Northern Ireland’s Mark Huffam (Mickybo and Me) is producing the series, with funding provided by Northern Ireland Screen supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
