With the IFTA Awards season well underway and less than two weeks to go until the ceremony on Saturday, April 9th, IFTN takes a look at a talent-laden Sound Category.
Nominated projects this year include acclaimed horror film ‘The Hallow’, the coming of age road drama ‘My Name is Emily’, Oscar nominated drama ‘Room’ and musical comedy-drama ‘Sing Street’.
Nominated for ‘The Hallow’ – Corin Hardy’s lauded creature feature which recently won Best Horror Film at the Empire Awards – are Daniel Crowley, Steve Fanagan, and Garrett Farrell.
After receiving his first nomination last year for another horror film (Ivan Kavanagh’s ‘The Canal’), Daniel Crowley is receiving his second IFTA nod this year. Previous projects of Daniel Crowley’s include Northern Irish shot series ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Fall’ as well as the feature films ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ and ‘Shem The Penman Sings Again’. The Irish IFTA nominee for Simon Fitzmaurice’s ‘My Name is Emily’ is Fionan Higgins, receiving his first nomination this year. He is nominated alongside Mattias Eklund and Fredrik Dalenfjäll.
