Irish short ‘Homemade’ has wrapped filming at the Tea Rooms in the Phoenix Park in Dublin.
‘Homemade’ tells the story of pensioner Tommy Fogarty whose attempts at impressing his new lady friend go awry when a group of teenage girls set out to destroy his plans. The short is centred around a church cake sale, with ‘Father Ted’ actor Jim Norton (Bishop Brennan) playing lead character Tommy, and ‘The Clinic’ actress Deirdre Connolly portraying his potential love interest.
The Irish Film Board-funded short was written by Matthew Roche and directed by Luke McManus (Danger High Voltage). It is produced by Anne Marie Naughton (Parked) for Park Films, with production design by Padraig O’Neill (Braveheart). Director of Photography is Piers McGrail (Kelly + Victor), and Mick Mahon (Cromwell in Ireland) will edit the film in post production.
The shoot lasted just two days, with the second filming location a house in Phibsboro in Dublin.
Park Films’ previous credits include ‘Atlantic’, starring Liam Cunningham, and ‘The Martyr’s Crown’, starring Brian Cox.
