Nielsen data shows 3e in February has become the second-most viewed digital channel. A release from TV3 tells us that 3e has also doubled its key audience of Multichannel adults 15-34, and is the fastest growing channel in Ireland.
TV3 Deputy Director of News, Bob Hughes, says of the show that: “fyi.’s fresh, young team brings a brand new energy to all that’s happening here and abroad, whether it’s on the streets or on the web.”
‘fyi’ broadcasts on weeknights at 6pm on 3e.
TV3 also recently announced that it is not renewing the Play TV service that it launched in May 2009. The broadcaster thanked Telemedia for their service which gave TV3 the revenue to prevent further job cuts at the low point of the recession. The service had apparently been popular with viewers but recently audience figures declined.
TV3’s ‘Play TV’ was an “infomercial” which ran between 12.00am and 3.00am on the channel. Telemedia, the service provider, broadcasts similar programmes in most European countries. TV3 has stated that it will likely introduce different interactive services to the station subject to viewer demand.
