As part of the comedy theme to this year’s Dingle Film Festival, running from 10th -13th September 2009, organisers are seeking new comedy films to screen. Feature films and shorts are welcome to submit by May 30th 2009
Interested applicants should send a screening DVD (PAL format) to Dingle Film Festival, First Floor, Garden Café, Green Street, Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland. DFF can screen your film on 35mm, Digi-beta, Beta SP, DVD.
The festival will also be screening a number of comedy classics during the festival in the Phoenix Cinema and will also be screening comedy in some more unusual venues. The Coen brother’s ‘The Big Lebowski’ will be screened in the appropriate Dingle Bowling Alley, while ‘Withnail & I’ will receive a screening in The Dingle Cattle Mart.
Dingle Film Festival offers feature screenings from Ireland and around the globe, covering all genres; a workshop programme for film professionals and film enthusiasts; a visual arts programme (Pictures); and educational and Irish language programmes. DFF also hosts The Gregory Peck Award: For Excellence in the Art of Film which actor Gabriel Byrne was the recipient of last year.
