11 Jul 2013 : By Kevin Cronin
Nidge and Darren poised to win over the UK.
‘Love/Hate’ - RTE’s biggest success story of recent years and winner of 13 IFTA awards - will give UK viewers the chance to experience the crime drama for themselves from 24th July, as season one begins on Channel 5.

Foreign sales for RTE have already seen the programme picked up in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and South Korea.

The series previously aired on Scotland’s STV but this is the first time it will reach a much wider UK audience.

Filming on season four concluded in May, which is set to screen on RTE later this year.

Past and present cast members include Aiden Gillen, Robert Sheehan, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Killian Scott, Charlie Murphy and Aoibhinn McGinnity.

At this year’s IFTA awards, it picked up Best Television Drama; Best TV Actor for Tom Vaughan-Lawlor; Best TV Actress for Charlie Murphy; Best TV Drama Director for David Caffrey; Best Scripted Drama for Stuart Carolan; and Best Supporting Actress for Susan Loughnane.

An Octagon Films production, ‘Love/Hate’ has been nominated for another 14 IFTAs since its premiere on RTE in 2010.

The series is written by Stuart Carolan; directed by David Caffrey and Anthony Byrne; and produced by Jane Gogan, Suzanne McAuley, Steve Matthews, James Flynn and Simon Massey.
