The show, which aired last summer, was initially shown on BBC Two Northern Ireland and then nationally on CBeebies. The series presents moral and educational messages through the main puppets Potto, Claribelle and Hilda. It was filmed in Blackstaff Studios and brought to life by local performers.
The winning episode, ‘The Share Necessities’, features quintuplets from Dungannon who are joined along with the puppets in exploring at the theme of sharing. The series was also acknowledged in the Children’s Programme Category.
Established in 1957 in the US, the CINE Golden Eagle Award acknowledges high quality production across different genres for professional, independent and student filmmakers. Directors Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard were both recipients of the Award in their early careers.
