Element Pictures ‘Prosperity’, Showtime’s ‘The Tudors’, Parallel Films ‘The Clinic’ and RTÉ’s ‘Prime Time Investigates’ will go head to head against top series from the US and UK at this year’s Monte Carlo TV Festival, which takes place from 8th – 12th June 2008.
IFTA-winning drama ‘Prosperity’, directed by Lenny Abrahamson, will join 13 other international titles in the Mini Series category, including US series ‘John Adams’ and the UK’s ‘Fanny Hill’ and ‘Jekyll'.
IFTA-winning medical drama ‘The Clinic’ and IFTA-winning Irish / Canadian co-production ‘The Tudors’, join 24 other titles in TV Drama Series line-up including the UK’s ‘Skins’, ‘The Street’ and from the US, ‘Lost’, ‘The Sopranos’ and ‘Heroes’.
RTE’s ‘Prime Time Investigates: Cocaine’ produced by Sean Mac Ghiolla Phadra and Paul Loughlin is one of 25 docos competing in the News Documentary strand.
Now in its 48th year, the Monte Carlo Television Festival, presided by Prince Albert II, will see 113 programs from 24 countries compete for a coveted Golden Nymph award, handed out in eight categories including TV Drama and Comedy series, TV Films, Miniseries and 24 Hour News Programmes.
